Mhale Mountains
An enchanting national park, sheltering the mist-covered Mahale Mountains, this park is home to several families of chimpanzees, and was set up for their protection. The stately Roan antelopes can be found in Mahale, as well as herds of buffalos, zebras … and the occasional leopard! The landscape ranges from the dense rain forest and alpine bamboo forests in the stunning Mahale Mountains to the open land on Lake Tanganyika's shore. Snorkelling is possible in the lake, which houses an amazing array of 90 species of fish such as Cichlids.
