Ruaha National Park

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Rugged gorges, acacia woodland, bush and the lush vegetation around the Ruaha and Njombe Rivers create one of the most untamed and striking natural areas in the world- the Ruaha National Park. One of the continent's most fantastic parks, Ruaha's relative inaccessibility has helped to create Africa's greatest elephant sanctuary, and the Greater Kudu, a beautiful antelope with large spiral horns, usually shy and elusive in the other East African parks, is frequently seen in Ruaha.

Wild dogs, and a wide variety of plains game, including the rare and beautiful Sable and Roan antelopes, roam this wild country, along with buffalos, giraffes, cheetahs, prides of lions, leopards, and crocodiles are frequently spotted basking along the river banks.
